Granite Park Chalet

Description

Partially buried in a heavy snowpack is Granite Park Chalet inside Glacier National Park.

Bear tracks alongside the chalet shows the large beast headed for the lower elevation after emerging from a winter den during the month of April. In a six-day round trip from Avalanche Campground to Ahern Pass, I crossed the paths of three bears headed for the low country, two grizzly and one black bear.
